Introduction
The Corporate Law Students’ Society (CLSS) is a pioneer students’ society in the specialised field of corporate law which seeks to refine and channel the dreams of law students who aspire to specialise in the field of corporate law practice in the Nigerian legal service market place.
The main goal of the society is to provide an extra-curricular, educative and interactive platform for student members to broaden their knowledge of and to interact with other students who have a shared interest in corporate law practice in the near future.
There are several benefits available to intending student members and for which the establishment of the CLSS is paramount . The CLSS seeks to, amongst other objectives:
- Spur members to cultivate and nurture their interest in corporate law in both formal and informal environment without the pressure of being graded.
- Reinforce the relevance of corporate law to students’ everyday lives.
- Enhance the possibility of future study or employment in corporations
- Promote internship opportunity in top tier corporate law firms and corporations
- Develop corporate leadership skills by organising and conducting conferences, symposia, training programs and advocacy sessions with expert in the field of corporate law practice.
- Organize and participate in both national and international moot and mock competition specifically on corporate law practice.
- Inculcate the dignity, integrity and the ethics of the legal profession into members.
- Strive towards ensuring the continued running and functioning of the society so as to deliver the above services and other services incidental thereto to our members.
